These songs are born of a long relationship with the west coast of Southern Africa from Yzerfontein in the south to the Kunene River in the north. They are written in a unique style that contains elements of folk, rock and African desert blues. They celebrate the harsh beauty of this region and evoke the different cultures - many now endangered or extinct - of those who have lived there.
The band will consist of: Jacques Coetzee (keyboard and vocals), Willem Moller (guitars), Jonny Blundell (guitars, backing vocals and percussion), Ronan Skillen (didg, tablas and additional percussion), Brydon Bolton (double bass and bass guitar), Ross Campbell (drums and percussion), Terrence Scarr (violin, viola and backing vocals), Nonsi (Fancy) Galada (backing vocals) and featuring special guest Madosini (uhadi and umrhubhe traditional bows). All lyrics are by Barbara Fairhead.
